Our Mission
With EconCurls, we plan to make curly hair accessible and affordable by providing education, DIY resources, and economic empowerment for underserved communities. After researching the expensive curly hair industry, we want to combat the expense by offering cheaper solutions. We provide recipes and programs that address all curls – Afro to Wavy, educating others from any background with endless resources. We want to build a world where curl care is affordable so that others can use curls as a means to find their identity and feel connected to their culture.
Our Approach
EconCurls was founded by a passionate advocate for curly hair and community empowerment. As a business student, our founder witnessed the financial struggles people face in finding their identity within curls and the high cost of maintaining a curl routine. For many, curly hair is more than just hair: it's a means of connecting with culture, expressing your identity, and feeling true to yourself. Through education and community bonding, he aims to uplift underserved communities and give a voice to those with curly hair who feel lost or defeated. EconCurls aims to sustain various initiatives through curl education and community workshops.
Our Services
Curly Hair Zoom Meetings
Our interactive virtual sessions are designed to empower, educate, and connect the curly hair community! Our first meeting will be on November 1st about curl basics! We plan to create a supportive space to share experiences, learn money strategies, and celebrate curls together.
Curly Hair Education
Here, you will find a digital array of resources, including care guides, video lessons, and general information about all curl types. With this resource, we aim to expand access to curl knowledge, particularly for communities and individuals who want to express themselves without financial strain.
DIY Curl Labs
This event will be conducted via Zoom and shared videos on social media, where people can create their own budget-friendly curl products. This includes live demos, ingredient kits, or downloadable guides. With our curl labs, we promote self-sufficiency at lower costs, encouraging curly hair entrepreneurship and empowerment.
